This antique pressed glass pie plate has frosted leaves with a clear grape cluster on the bottom of the plate. The actual description for this piece is “grape pie plate.”
The frosted saying around the plate’s border reads “It is Pleasant to Labor for Those We Love”.
The dimension of the plate is 13” (from outer handle to outer handle) X 1 ½” high. The condition of the plate is very good, with “straw marks” in the glass which occurred during the manufacturing of the piece. This is quite common.
This plate can be referenced in “Ruth Webb Lee’s Handbook of Early American Pressed Glass, 1964, Plate # 118.”
There are no chips, cracks or hairlines, circa 1900.
