Antique: Pottery Villeroy & Boch Stein, Hard Paste Earthenware

This stein was made by Villeroy & Boch. The material of the stein is hard paste earthenware which is comparable to English Ironstone. The surface has a litho of a full figured minstrel and he’s playing a mandolin. The verbiage is in tack but I can’t decipher it. The size of the stein houses one (1) liter of beer and the top lid is pewter with a simple pewter finial.

The bottom has “V.B. # 625” with embedded # 1526 also #26. The stein is 8 Ľ” tall X 4 ˝” wide (not including the handle), circa 1845 to 1850.

The condition of the stein is very good with no chips, cracks or hairlines.
