Antique: Majolica Center Piece, signed George Jones

This important piece of majolica is called a “Water Lily & Basket Weave Center Piece.” This piece is so impressive that it no doubt is a “stand alone piece”. Used as a centerpiece on a dining room table, I’d expect a ton of compliments. For that matter this piece would be “a statement” on any piece of furniture!

This flower holder can be referenced, with a full page display, in: “Antique Majolica Around The House”, 2005, Jeffery B. Snyder, A Schiffer Book For Collectors with Price Guide”, page 192.

The piece is 15” in diameter, 2” high.

This piece is in very fine original condition with minor wear and surface scratching on the underside of the base, a tiny fleck on the edge of one divider and small losses to glaze at the tip of some of the flower petals. There are not cracks or hairlines.
