Vintage Northwood Carnival Amethyst Compote

This Carnival glass compote, marked “N” (Northwood) has a plain soft amethyst iridescent interior with the raised wild flowers as an exterior pattern, the pattern being “Wild Flower”. The stem is raised like a large screw. The stem and base are clear green in color. This small compote or candy dish would be a compliment on any dessert table.

This piece, with a photo, can be referenced in the “Standard Encyclopedia of Carnival Glass”, 8th edition, 2002, by Bill Edwards & Mike Carwile, page 284.

The piece is 6 ½” wide and 5” tall.

The condition is very good. There are a lot of factory imperfections in the glass, ie air bubbles and irregular paint lines (under the glaze) on the exterior of the dish. There are no chips, cracks or hairlines.
