James W.Tufts Quadruple Plate Pitcher
Oh my!!! I love this pitcher filled with flowers. It was made by James M. Tufts of Boston, MA. Measures 11" tall and 7 1/2" from spout to handle. Tufts began in 1875 and was out of business in 1915. Over the years, they made some really exquisite pieces. There are three dings to the body of this wonderful piece. The handle has a lion's head on it. The handle bottom is quite decorative. The body is engraved with flowers and leaves. There are two rectangles on either side that could be engraved with names or monograms. Lovely pedestal base that has a floral border. There is a gorgeous 3 1/4" border of flowers and birds. Some silver loss commensurate 1890 age. Overall, a stunning piece. C:1890. Marked on the bottom with Tufts hallmark.
