Here is a nice earlier painting by one of the top tier painters to come out of the Laguna Beach Art Colony, Anna Hills (1880-1931). Very well respected during her career, she became the leading voice for women painters in Laguna Beach during her years there. Ms. Hills ranged all over the southwest painting the landscape. She was a masterful colorist, capturing the bright hues in her paintings of sunlit landscapes and ocean coastal scenes. She was also a wonderful teacher to many other women artists of the period, and her influence is apparent in many of the paintings they produced over the years. This oil is in excellent overall condition, 10"x14" in size (on board) and has a beautiful wide period frame as well.
