Fabulous antique sterling silver christening cup/mug dated circa 1850. The lovely cup has a round baluster body sitting on a collet foot and scroll handle. The exterior has a hand chased swirl-fluted and floral decoration over the body. The interior has a delightful pale lemon gilding. The cartouche is inscribed A.G. to C.A.F. 18th June 1905. It has full hallmarks for London 1850 and the maker George John Richards (GR). It measures 3.5" high and is in excellent antique condition. It does have one small ding to the base only. This would be wonderful to start or add to a collection of christening cups. It would also display nicely with sterling demitasse cups. And,of course, it would make a memorable heirloom gift for a new baby.
