Victorian Butterfly Insect Pin Brooch MOP Enamel

This is the most delightful piece!! A butterfly insect pin/brooch dating from the Victorian period---around 1860's-1880's. The butterfly is made of a carved piece of mother of pearl. The wings are embellished with tiny enameled flowers and tiny 14k stars. The frame of the butterfly is brass or gold fill. It measures 1.5" long by 1" high. In excellent antique condition. A real conversation piece.
