Offering for sale a pair of elegant old Sheffield plate candlesticks of classic form. Fine silverplate dating to early to the late 18th century. Each candle holder is 12" tall with a rectangular base of 5.5" x 4.5". Classic and timeless design of reeded columns extending to a reeded base ending with a soft scallop. These are really so much more beautiful in person as it is so hard to capture the detail and mellow patina of the silver. They are in very good condition with no copper showing through. Some wear from age is evident. There are a couple of minor dings at the base of one candlestick ( see photos). A few minute dimples here and there. These are in no way distracting and merely give them charm. They have their original bobeches which fit perfectly. There is a maker's mark inside one of the candle holder which I have pictured but have been unable to trace. A very substantial pair of weighted candlesticks which will work equally well in either a traditional or contemporary decor.
