Elegant English silverplate biscuit/bun warmer or server. The server in the shape of a shell with naturalistic twig design frame. The hinged warmer opens to reveal two pierced guards which are also hinged. It is marked on the bottom with the marker's mark D&A for Daniel & Arter (Birmingham 1882-1920) and E.P.N.S. H5909. Measures 9" wide by 11" high by 4.5" deep and weighing almost 3.5 pounds. In excellent condition. Once a staple on the Victorian table, bun warmers are highly collectible today.
