Fabulous matched pair of 19th century French gilt bronze five light candelabra. In the Rococo manner of Louis XV, the candelabra are heavily adorned. The pedestal base is richly ornamented with French symbols--acanthus leaves, torch, quiver, and garland. Topping the pedestal is an urn which flows into the candle arms. The center candle cup is topped with a fleur-de-lis finial. The candle cup has a removable bobeche and the finial is removable. Each candelabra measures approximately 21" high by 9" wide and weighs 9 pounds. Both pieces are complete and in excellent condition. They retain 90-95% of the original fire gilding. Finished on all sides, these would be wonderful on a dining table,as well as, a mantle. With the quality and design of candelabra in the two to three thousand range, these are a bargain!!!
