Victorian Staffordshire Duck Tureen
A rare piece for the Staffordshire collector! Victorian Staffordshire pottery covered dish or tureen in the form of a swimming duck with a basket base. Beautifully molded and painted with touches of gold gilt. This piece came from the 300+ collection of an avid collector of over 40 years. Cover measures 6.75" long by 4.25" wide. Bottom measures 5.5" long by 4" wide. Vent hole in cover. In very good antique condition. Tight hairline approximately 2" long on top of cover next to the duck's head (see photo). Additional tight hairlines on bottom of cover (see photo). Slight discoloration to inside base (see photo). These in no way detract from this piece but are mentioned for accuracy. Dates to 1850-1870 period. Guaranteed to be authentic antique Staffordshire and NOT a reproduction.
