An exceptional miniature on ivory painting after the artist Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun's self portrait with the artist's daughter Julie. Le Brun was a French painter (1755-1842) and is recognized as the most important female painter of the 18th century. This is such a sweet and charming portrait which portrays the love between a mother and her daughter. The painting is housed in a lovely French bronze frame which measures 4" tall by 2.75" wide. The painting measures 2.75" by 2.25" and is signed with the artist's initials "M.D.". In excellent antique condition.
