Gorgeous French green opaline perfume or scent bottle. From the Grand Tour era around the middle of the 1800's, this little treasure came from one of the shops of the Palais Royal and was a special memento of the trip. Five eglomise architectural scenes embellish the sides and top of the bottle--5 in all. Fabulous reticulated brass ormolu adorns the sides of the bottle surrounding the miniature paintings. Ornate brass top and base. The bottle measures 4" tall by 2.25" wide by 2.25" deep. Sadly, one of the paintings has cracked (see last photo), but this can be turned to the back to display without distraction. The piece has been priced half the price of similar bottles to reflect the damage. The rest is in mint condition. An opportunity to have a fabulous piece at a bargain price.
