I am so pleased to offer this fabulous Belgian oil painting of three pomeranian dogs by listed artist Fernand Gaudfroy. The painting is done on a thick wood (Mahogany?) panel and is dated 1919. The artist has captured the beauty of the breed, as well as, the expression and personality of these adorable pups. Two of the dogs lie on a fancy pillow while the other sits. In the background a piece of furniture suggests they are in the parlor of milady's home. One of the little rascals has lost his collar. They appear to be intently focused on someone or something in the distance. The painting has been framed in a contemporary frame done in period style and perfectly suited to the piece. The painting measures 21.75" wide by 18" high. Frame measures 25" by 22". The painting is in very good condition with the only issue a minor separation in the wood panel in a couple of places. This is consistent with age and does not detract and, in my opinion, gives that wonderful age-related patina. This piece is a real treasure!!!!!
