Doll's Wooden 'Hope Chest' Made in Germany

This "Hope Chest" measures 3" wide x 2-1/8" deep x 1-7/8" tall. I am not an expert on wood, but this items seems to be made out of bird's-eye maple. I believe the words Hope Chest and the bird and floral garland were stamped onto the wood. There is a tin hook that slides on to a nail in a groove in the lid. This piece also has 2 hinges. It has a reddish stain that makes it more like cedar. It is marked "Germany" on the base.

This piece is in great condition! There are no chips or cracks in the wood. The number 15 is written in pencil on the base - probably the original price. There is a small bit of wear where the hook hits the lid. There is barely any dirt!!
