1929 Popeye Pencil Box with Contents
This Popeye Pencil Box is dated 1929. It is also marked "Copyright symbol 1929, King Features Syndicate, Inc." on the top. Inside it is marked "No. 9016 - Eagle Pencil Co. U.S.A.". When closed this box is 8-5/8" wide x 5-1/4" deep x 3/4" tall. It is mint green with white and black detailing. It has the original snap. There are also 4 pencils, 5 "Corol Crayons" and an eraser.
This pencil case was used. There are a couple of spots, edge scuffs and scratches. The end is a bit faded. In the back view in picture #2 on the sides the 2 characters look faded. That is just lighting glare - they are fine.
