Figural Early Palmer Cox Brownie Pottery Bank HTF

This bank is a figural Palmer Cox Brownie that is made from pottery. It has a yellow/goldenrod tin glaze, but it is not yellow ware. It was made from white pottery that you can see on the bottom. This bank is 5-1/2" tall x 2-1/2" wide x 2-1/4" deep. It is marked on the base "1155".

This bank is early and was used. Someone used a knife or tool to pry the money out of the slot on the bank. As you can see from the close up there are a couple of nicks and hairlines along the slot. There is also a chip on the underside of his hat brim on the back. The shoe tips also show some wear. All in all, this is a hard to find, early bank that is still presentable.
