Tin Penny Toy Dirigible Horn Early
This dirigible (or Zeppelin) penny toy horn was probably made in Germany. It is not marked however. This horn is 4-1/2" long x 1-7/8" tall x 1" deep. There is a balloon at the top that is red. The "basket" below the balloon is metallic gold. There is an Officer with an eyeglass that is silver. The spinning blade is silver also. When you blow on this horn there is a hole directly below the blade that makes it spin. The tube that you blow into is metallic gold. The horn does work if you really blow hard!!
This is an early penny toy. There is some wear to the finish on the metal. One of the "ropes" that attaches the balloon to the basket is broken towards the bottom. It is visible in the pictures.
