This is an early tracing frame. It has a dovetailed wooden frame. The glass is "frosted". If you use a sharpened pencil, you can trace the pictures and then wipe them off later. There are 5 different pictures. The one shown in the frame is where it is marked "Made in Germany". There are 2 pictures with Victorian children at play, one with a house, one with the multi colored items, and one picture with borders and designs. There are strips of the Brownies glued to the front side of the frame. This tracing frame measures 6-1/4" tall x 5-1/2" wide x 3/8" deep. There is a piece of very thin wood on the back. There is another piece of wood that fits into slots in the back where the pictures can be changed.
This is a nice early toy. There are some nicks to the Brownie's pictures on the front. The pictures that fit into the frame are very fragile. There is a flake on the glass at the top - about 1/4" on the clear side of the glass (hard to see in the picture). There are also a couple of "flea bites" to the corners of the glass. Someone wrote on this in ink so there is a letter on the glass.
