There were not many items made to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. This item was probably used at the table or just as a gift for that lucky child! This is a leprechaun's hat. It is a top hat in a shiny, kelly green, foil material. It has a shamrock attached to the front.
This item measures 2" tall x 4" wide x 3-1/2" deep at the base. At the top is measures 2-3/4" wide x 2-3/8" deep. It is stamped "Made in Japan" on the base. Probably from the 1940s or 1950s.
There are a few minor defects. The foil material has a few nicks - I believe some of these were done during the manufacture of this item. There is a "bend" on the rim of the hat that does not go through to the bottom. There are no tears or pushed in spots.
