Turn of the Century Chinese Carved Ivory Woodsman Statue
The man is classically dressed in a robe and he is holding a bundle of sticks behind his back and an ax in his hand. The man has a large sun hat resting on his back and he is wearing a serene look on his bearded face. The ivory has a nice, natural grain. The ivory peg that juts out of the side of the stick bundle is removable and we will remove it to ship the piece to avoid it snapping off.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is one break to the piece where the man holds the branch going behind his back, the branch once extended further. This break is hardly really noticeable. There are no other breaks, no chips, no cracks and no repairs.
The statue measures 12 1/2 inches tall.
