English Victorian Ivory Handled Chinese Willow Pattern Crumber/Fish Slice
The ivory handle is very well carved and has nice graining. Although this piece was originally intended as a crumber for scraping loose crumbs and food particles from the table, today these pieces make wonderful servers for fish or casserole. The high edges on three sides help prevent dripping and make an ideal serving piece for anything served in sauce or another liquid. The server has never been monogrammed or engraved. This piece was made between the 1850s and 1880s.
The condition is excellent. The ivory handle has a couple of splits as is typical, but the handle is structurally sound. The engraving on the blade is very sharp and crisp. There are no chips, no cracks, no dents, no breaks, and no repairs.
The crumber or fish server is 13 inches long.
