4pc English Tortoise Shell and Sterling Silver Inlay Dresser Set Adie Brothers
The set includes: 1 large brush: 9 1/8 inches long 2 small brushes: 6 1/4 inches long 1 hand mirror: 10 inches long
Each piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for Birmingham, the date letter “y” for 1923, the maker’s mark for Adie Brothers, and Sterling Silver Made in England.
The set has a few minor flaws, but overall it is in great condition. One of the smaller brushes is missing some of the silver inlay as you can see in the last photograph. There are no other losses. The larger brush has a crack in the tortoise shell at the base of the handle, but this is inconsequential. The tortoise shell is securely bezel set and in no danger of coming out. The mirror has some wear to the backing in places, particularly around the edges. It could be resilvered or taken out and replaced if you wish, but this is not necessary. You can still see your reflection in the mirror. The mirror and the two small brushes each have a dent to the silver along the edge. Otherwise, the condition is excellent. The tortoise shell is in great shape with no other cracks and no chips. There are no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks and no repairs.
