13 Quality English Carved Art Deco Ivory Handled Luncheon Knives
Presented is a fine set of 13 English ivory handled luncheon knives. The knives have stainless steel blades and carved elephant ivory handles. The handles are well carved and have nice crosshatching. The geometric style carving is very much in the Art Deco style, and these pieces were undoubtedly made in the 1920s or 1930s.
The knives are marked Thomas 155 New Bond St Alpha Rustless on the blades.
The knives are in great overall condition. All but two of the handles have some splitting along the grain of the ivory as is typical. Many of these splits are minor and hard to notice. All the handles are structurally sound. There are no chips, no other cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The knives cannot be put in a dishwasher.
The dinner knives are 8 3/8 inches long.
