Elaborate French-Style Display Cabinet, Gold Leaf Finish
A very ornate French design display cabinet with three levels, two glass shelves and the lower level which is the interior wood base painted with a gold leaf finish. The cabinet has fluted columns on each side capped by an elaborate finial, wreath-like decoration in relief at the base of the door, a side-hinged single glass door, and glass side panels. There is no light on the interior. The cabinet sits on four small feet, raising it off the floor approx. 7". The glass shelves appear to be about 3/8" thick and are quite heavy. They are removable. The center top is ornamented with a shell design overlaying the glass on the door, and the top of the cabinet itself is accented by an arched pediment with stylized floral and heart carving. The width of this piece is approx. 29", height approx. 74" and depth approx. 17.5".
