Beautiful signed Japanese porcelain jar with human figures and birds filling the reserve panels around the circumference of the jar. At the base are human faces around the foot rim. An intricate diapering design in gold on top of iron red overlays the spaces between the reserve panels. The lid features a bird perched among leaves. It appears that there is an old repair to the finial as the colors of the materials are not quite the same as the surrounding ones. Otherwise, condition of this double-handled jar is excellent. There is an old kiln fissure on the base alongside the signature indicating that temperatures were not even as is often the case with old ceramics. Size is 8" high and approx. 10" from handle to handle.
Buyer must have a verified shipping address with Paypal, and if the buyer is outside the U.S., the only mail that will be used is Priority International with signature confirmation and insurance for the sales price.
