Borghese Framed Print of Clerkenwell Cavalry Swordsman on Horseback

One of four outstanding military prints that will be listed. The print was originally published in 1798. The image depicts a cavalryman on horseback. He is wielding a sword, as his steed gallops forward. He is attired in a red coat with blue collar and cuffs, buff colored pants, black boots and tall fur hat with a white feather plume. This handsome print and the other four in the grouping are by Borghese. The edges of the frame are a deep red, echoing a red border around the print. The outer border is black, and this is displayed in a gold leaf frame. Size of the print is 11" x 13" framed. The image itself is approx. 7.5" x 9.5". Condition is very good. The Borghese label is intact on the back.

Consider purchasing all four of these handsome prints to use as a group in a man's study or boy's room.

The artist, Thomas Rowlandson (1756-1827) was a British painter and caricaturist with many listed works to his credit.
