Wonderful lithograph from a children's book illustration by Russian Feodor Rojankovsky, born 1891, and who immigrated to America in the 1940s. This illustration shows a young girl huddled with her little brother or friend under a big umbrella. In the background is a house and in the foreground are pets. The print is framed in a very simple wood frame painted green, and coordinating with the foliage in the print. The size of the framed piece is 17.5" wide by 13.5" high. The artist was well-known for children's book illustration and won the Caldecott Medal for "Frog Went a Courtin" in 1956, and an Art Directors' Club Gold Medal for color illustration in advertising. There is a biography of the artist attached to the reverse side of the print.
