Engraving of Innocence w Lamb, Italian Artist, Carlo Dolci

Exquisitely detailed engraving of a beautiful woman in period dress holding a lamb. The artist is Carlo Dolci, a Florentine painter who lived from 1616 to 1686 and worked in Florence. He was painstakingly slow with his art and though painting many beautiful religious images, was not prolific. Publisher of this engraving is A.H. Payne, a German publisher of baroque art in Dresden and Leipzig. He produced a number of books with high-quality steel engravings of the masters. The image size of the print is approx. 5" wide x 6" high. The full page with margins included is 8.5" x 11.25".
