The scrolling and stylized leaf forms around the base help categorize this cabinet or case as belonging to the art nouveau period though a case could probably be made for Empire styling as well. The cabinet is painted black, has double doors, opens in the middle, has 4 levels of shelves, three of which are adjustable, and a scroll-like top rail that on each end, culminates in a point. The key remains with the piece which came from a local Atlanta estate and has a bit of history attached as well, according to the former owner. The doors probably need to be planed to close properly and lock, and the lock itself is frozen so it too needs attention. The glass is intact, no breaks. This is a large piece which would be a focal point in a room. Height is approx. 72", width is approx. 44" and depth is approx. 16".
