Shakespeare's Macbeth Engraving of Three Witches, 1798 by R. Westall
Wonderful old engraving of the three witches from Shakespeare's Macbeth by Royal Academy artist, Richard Westall. The engraving is by Stow. The sheet was bound into a book at one point as can be ascertained from the left margin. The margins are all around have a good deal of foxing, and need to be treated before framing, but that is up to the buyer. The engraving itself is in good condition with the evil trio of witches gathered at dusk in a cloud of blackness--the three nocturnal nasties. The dimensions of the piece are 16 5/8" long by 13 3/8" wide. The image size is 10.5 x 6.5. There is a small margin tear on the left and also another small tear on the bottom margin, each less than 1".
