19th C. English Coaching Scene, Hand-Colored Print, C.B. Newhouse

A bit of humor in this English coaching scene by C.B. Newhouse, a 19th C. British artist. This one shows a coach leaving the station with a lady about half-way up the ladder--oops!

The hand-colored print was printed in London in Jan. 1845, according to information printed on the lower right. The legend underneath the print reads, "hold hard, you have forgot the lady"

The print is in good condition and appears to have framed sometime in the 1950s. The dark maroon mat really does nothing for the print and needs to be replaced as does the frame which is a simple wood one. The print should be framed with acid free mounting to preserve it. Dimensions of the framed print are approx. 18" long and 15.5" high.
