Very pleasing oil of a harbor scene with several boats and fishing shacks by a female artist Irene Staniford. I cannot locate Irene Staniford in my 10-year-old copy of Davenport's but there is another Staniford listed who may be her son. She is obviously talented and might not have pursued a career in the arts which could account for her not being listed. This is a large painting, approximately 24" wide and 17" long in a gold leaf frame. There is one small spot of paint missing or which has separated from the canvass so please be aware of this insignificant defect. The painting is on art board and on the back, marked out, was her name and address which you can barely discern but which was in Sarasota, FL. The painting is signed on the lower right as you face the painting or the observer's left. I would recommend crating the painting for shipping but if you decide to buy, you can tell me your decision for shipping at that time.
