This caricature of Louis Pasteur first appeared in the 19th century and was reproduced as one of a series by Petrolagar Laboratories, Inc.. The print is matted and has the plate mark prominently showing around the edges of the print. The size of the image is approx. 4" by 7" and the overall size of the mat is 11 x 15 inches. The print is in good, as found, estate condition with no major boos boos to reveal. The mat is a bit worn but that would be covered with the framing or it can be replaced if you like.
This print has now been archivally matted (acid free)and framed in a handsome dark wood with beading on the interior edge. The framed size is 10" x 14". The price has been changed to reflect the additions.
I have two other prints in this series, one of Charles Darwin and the other of Pierre and Marie Curie, and these have also been matted with acid free materials and framed just like the Louis Pasteur print. The threesome makes a handsome grouping and would be a perfect gift for the scientist or chemist in your family.
