Satsuma Floral Decorated Cylinder Vase w Butterfly
A cylinder vase decorated in a panoramic style with tall flowers growing all around the vase and a butterfly fluttering nearby. This Japanese vase is artist signed on the side, as shown, and a close look at the glaze shows the fine crazing characteristic of Satsuma wear. This lovely piece is decorated with multi-colored flowers with the little petals slip decorated to make them more three dimensional against the flat surface. The vase is in good as found estate condition with no chips or cracks, just light wear. The height is approximately 6.5". The vase narrows at the shoulder and then turns out at the rim.
