Classic Pattern Pressed Glass Plate, Gillinder & Sons, P.J. Jacobus Designer
Handsome pressed glass plate in the Classic pattern by P.J. Jacobus (1844-1910). The plate has a frosted center with intaglio impression of a man on horseback spearing a lion. The edges of the plate are scalloped points, alternating with a pattern of oak leaves and cane and diamond. It's also signed P.J. Jacobus. The plate is approx. 11.5" in diameter and in excellent condition. The plate was made by Gillinder & Sons of Philadelphia. There are other plates in this pattern (five in all). The others picture U.S. presidential and vice presidential candidates.
