Own a piece of gemstone history! This imitation citrine doublet (circa 1890-1910) is a perfect illustration of the deception that has existed throughout history in the gemstone marketplace.
Set in 10k gold, this ring features a colorless quartz crown fused to a yellow glass pavilion. Upon quick inspection without the benefit of a gemological microscope, it would be challenging to discern this ring from a genuine citrine (also a form of the quartz family). The impostor stone is brilliant in it's yellow-orange color and surrounded by 12 half seed pearls.
Material: 10k rose gold (unmarked, but acid tested) Stone: Doublet- Quartz top and yellow glass bottom Measurements: size 8.5 Weight: 2.9 grams Condition: Very good condition; however, one of the seed pearls has loss to the nacre.
