Adams Rose Staffordshire 9 " Dinner Plate ca 1800s Hand Painted

The Adams Rose hand painted 9 inch dinner plate was made between 1829 and 1861. Based on the colors in this plate, I estimate it was made 1830-40. The flowers are a deep ruby red and the foliage is a solid grass green.

The scalloped edge has a raised beaded border. There are frit marks on the front and also on the back as shown in the enlarged photos. The early manufacturing process would often include frit and coal specks in the glaze. The overall condition is very good.

The back of the plate has the the decorators mark of four green dots.
