The Adams Rose hand painted 9 inch dinner plate was made between 1829 and 1861. Based on the colors in this plate, I estimate it was made 1830-40. The hand painted flowers are a deep ruby red and the foliage is a solid grass green.
The scalloped edge has a raised beaded border. There is a 1/8 inch flake on the edge shown in the enlarged photo. The early manufacture would include frit and coal specks in the glaze but these are not evident on the front of the plate. The overall condition is very good.
The back of the plate has the impressed ADAMS mark and the decorator's mark. There are several of these plates in my shop, each listed separately so I can fully describe their condition.
