Wedgwood's Cobalt blue Jasper Ware tea set consists of the teapot, creamer, and covered sugar. The white Bas-Relief ornamentation depicts Classical figures of mythology including Sacrifice figures, Diana and the Stag, Offerings to Peace, and Sacrifice to Ceres.
The three pieces have the impressed WEDGWOOD mark and the number 24 for 1924. The interiors are glazed which makes them suitable for use. The teapot is 6" in diameter and 9" handle to spout and 5" high. It is clean inside and out and has no chips, not cracks.
The sugar bowl is 5" in diameter, 5 3/4" with two lug handles, and 4 1/2" high. There is a shallow nick on the white rim and a stain on the outside bottom underneath. The color is not as intense as on the teapot.
The creamer is 4 1/4" diameter, 5 3/4" handle to spout, and 4 1/2" high. The is a a shallow flake on the inside of the spout. This set, now 89 years old, weighs a substantial 4 1/2 lbs. The craftsmanship will never be duplicated.
