The 8 1/2 inch plate is impressed P to indicate it is made of Pearlware and DXW for the year of manufacture, 1894. It also has Emerson printed in bluish-green letters, the same color appearing on the face of the plate.
The edges of the plate show wear/soiling from handling but otherwise the plate is very good and has no chips, nor cracks. The plate comes from the Rosen Collection.
