Wedgwood Blue Jasper Ware Biscuit Jar Cookie Jar Laurel Foot Silver Fittings ca. 19th c.
This Wedgwood Dark Blue Jasper dip silver-plate mounted biscuit jar has what is referred to as the Laurel Foot. The round shape jar rests on a flared jasper foot decorated with white laurel sprigs. The body is decorated with white "Sacrifice Figures" which stand out from the deep blue cobalt color of the jar.

The Jasper Ware jar is 5 3/4" high by 5 3/4" diameter. It is in very good condition, without chips or cracks, and is impressed Wedgwood and dates from 1880 to 1900. The silver plate band, bail handle, and lid have the mark of H C & Co.S. They have polished up nicely but is is obvious to me the silver plating is getting worn. It comes from the Ron and Carol Glynn Collection and has their sticker.
