Moritz Zdekauer MZ Austria Cake Plate Hand Painted Roses Porcelain 11" ca 1900
This plate is painted with dozens of small pink roses, and one yellow and one red rose all no more than an inch in diameter each. All together there are about two dozen individually painted roses with their leaves and stems curving into a circular spray covering three fourths of the plate.
The background colors enhance the delicacy and texture of the plate with very light shading. The center of the plate is a pale buttery yellow, just a light hint of the color. Surrounding the center and extending to the edges are the palest of blue and lavender. One color blends into the other so you cannot tell where one begins and the other ends.
The plate bears the green underglaze mark of the crowned double eagle, and is impressed with the shape number 1210. Condition is excellent.
