Wedgwood's Seashell and Seaweed plates reflect the centuries old interest in marine life. This is a set of four 10 inch dinner plates made of Queensware with a shell edge and underglaze transfers. The design includes two different shells in rust, yellow and green on a cream ground. There are two of each design included.
The plates have the printed and impressed marks Wedgwood Etruria England/ Made in England. Written in enamel is the pattern number AK 8156. The impressed letters 4WD indicates production in 1927.
Condition is very good, free of cracks, chips and flakes. There is some crazing as common for this material. The decoration is also in very good condition.
