Miniature Oil Painting - F.Elgar New York - Ca. 1930's
This is a very nice miniature oil painting on board by Florence E. Elgar of New York. She lived in NYC but went up to Woodstock to paint. This picture is inscribed Woodstock, NY on the back. Original frame and back. There is some loss on the one side, but otherwise a very nice rendering of an Arts & Crafts period painting. The colors are oranges, greens, browns, and blues.
There is an internet note listing F. Elgar, Born Dec. 1, 1905 in New York City, she was living in Manhattan with her mother and sister. Her only works are dated 1935 and painted in Woodstock, New York.
Overall size picture and frame - 6" x 7-1/2".
