An early 19th century hand made pin cushion in the form of a fish.

A Georgian pin cushion made of yellow silk covered with net for the fish's scales. Pins are used to indicate the tail and fins. I have come across this design before and would suggest the pattern must have been suggested in a lady's sewing pamphlet of the period.
