Antique Georgian Spode Imari Dish
A lovely Early 19th Century Antique Georgian Porcelain Dish by Josiah Spode of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. This plate is decorated in underglaze colours with the "Imari" pattern No. 2701 and gilded. The pattern has the rare yellow fish-scale in the design and all gilding and over-painting is in wonderful condition. The reverse with hand written Maker's Mark and pattern number in red, "SPODE 3701" a mistake by the painter as the pattern is actually #2701 together with Painter's Mark, the astrological sign for Mars, a shield and spear.
