Mezzochrome Post Cards Of The Hotel Seneca, Rochester, NY, 1909. These three post cards of the Hotel Seneca in Rochester, N.Y. are postmarked from Rochester to Mrs. F. A. Free of Rock Island, Illinois. All are from July 1909 and all were sent by the same person. Of course you have the nice bit of activity around the front and side of the hotel and next door you can even see The Lyceum as well. But the REAL interesting thing here is the two cards that accompany the picture of the hotel itself....obvious signs of the times. One is of the "Ladies Dining Room, Hotel Seneca, Rochester, N.Y." and the other is of the "Gentlemen's Cafe and Grill Hotel Seneca, Rochester, N.Y." All three are in good to very good used condition. I do not claim expertise so can only describe what I see. One card, that of the Ladies Dining Room, has a creased corner that is now straight coming into the card about a quarter inch in the upper right corner. There are no other creased corners or corners that have BEEN creased on either of the other cards, and all corners of all three cards show only very minimal wear at all. There are no pinholes, tears, or stains to any of the cards. The post cards were Published by The Rochester News Company of Rochester, N.Y. and were made in Germany. They are marked "Mezzochrome, Leipzig, Berlin, Dresden" on the reverse also.
