Five Vintage Post Cards of Forth Bridge / Three Are Real Photo
Here I am offering five vintage post cards from three different publishers, all featuring the historic Forth Bridge (1890) over the Firth of Forth in Scotland. As for condition, all are in absolutely perfect unused/unposted condition and NONE show wear or damage of any kind nor have any marks front or back. This is a really nice group of historic vintage post cards. Three are Valentine's cards, consecutively marked in their stamp boxes with the upper case letters L, M, and N. L is the color card with the full white border and the other two are the almost sepia toned cards, which are also real photographs as stated on the back of each. The Valentine's color card is a CARBO-COLOUR card. I believe all three of these cards date to the later 1930's. The color card of the ferry, with the white border only at the bottom, is a Cotman-Color card, published by Jarrold & Sons, LTD. of Norwich, England and is also a real photograph, as stated on the reverse. The ferry in the picture is Robert The Bruce, which launched in 1934. I believe this card may date to as late as 1950. It is number KED 109. The fifth card is a humorous one... "How we saw the Forth Bridge after a glorious spree!" This is a D. & S. K. Ideal Series card from Ferguson, Stationers, South Queensferry. I do not have information as to it's age. You won't find a one of these cards in any better condition.
Thank you.
